Thunder rattle from underbelly skin

We have a 2012 Classic that from time to time generates a sound like thunder when we walk on the floor. We isolated the sound source to be underbelly skin between the mounting ribs. The sectin of skin (is it sheet metal?) is the width of the trailer with about 3' between the the rivet attachments to the ribs. Wondering if anyone has experienced this phenominon and what they did to eliminate. I'm thinking of running a 1" aluminum angle piece across the middle and attach to the under rib.

We have it, don't be concerned about it at all. It's just the natural expansion, contraction and flexibility of the trailer's panels caused by temperature changes and slight flexing of the frame as you walk about.

You can snug the stabilizers or add x-chock stabilizers between the tires, may help. But the panels will still expand, contract and move, and probably make thunder. Ours do.

Same here our new Flying Cloud 27fb pops and snorts from underbelly quite a bit. We quickly learned to ignore it!

If you do run your al angle between the frame members I would suggest you use construction adhesive and not run the risk of putting a hole in any of the tanks. You can screw the ends in place.

Agree with the above posts. Our 2012 30ft FC has a lot of thunder in the belly. In talking with others in various CG, some seems to have it more than others, some not at all. We can reduce the thundering by adjusting the stabilizers, but don't ever eliminate it. After a while, you don't notice it. Some have suggested it serves an an intruder alarm.

I noticed this past week in the sunny 90 degree days of Arizona the panels are expanded more, and produce a lot more thunder as we move about inside.

The thunder continued to aggravate so purchased a chunk of rolled mat from Home Depot. They have rolls of rubber and carpet about 1/8" thick and 26" (or so) wide. After cleaning the area, I cut several 2' lengths and attached them to the underbelly with Liquid Nails. Several months & miles now and they are still looking secure...AND no more thunder!
