Things to examine before warranty expires

We have a 2016 Classic and have had very few problems. Warranty will expire at the end of December 2017. Are there any specific areas we should consider having addressed prior to warranty expiration? We have spent 90 nights in her over the past 19 months and have only the following to address at this point:

- Upper cabinet door hinge - wood screw hole too big; will not hold hinge
- lower cabinet door in bedroom - hinge off
- 13.5 A/C unit - not blowing cool air; 15 deg warmer than air from 15 unit
- Oven striker start inop (this has been a pain the rear from the time we took delivery - is one of the first ovens with striker for both oven and burners)

Our dealer is Foley; they have been great in addressing any issues. With these limited issues, would there be any appreciable advantage in taking the AS to Jackson Center before warranty expiry? JC is 755 mi from our home.

Thanks for any advice.

Does the warranty expire at the end of two years from the date of the Airstream, or, two years after you bought it new?

Will warranty cover burnt out LEDs outside on the awning?

For the upper cabinet hinge; stick a couple of wooden matches in the stripped screw hole, put some wood glue on the screw, and turn it in.

Careful not to strip it again.
When the glue sets, it will hold for ever and two days.
Sounds like the lower cabinet hinge could use the same treatment.

I would get a 12 v plug in volt meter - plugs in to any 12v receptacle in the trailer - to check that wherever you are plugged in to 110V Ac, the 12v volt meter reads at least 13.5v to be sure that your trailer batteries are being charged properly.

As well, check carefully for any rainwater leaks causing damp floor - not always easy to see if carpeted.

Moisture detecting meters can be bought from amazon and elsewhere. Could be an expensive issue later if not caught quickly!

Good luck and happy trails

Obvious answer, check EVERYTHING that is covered by the warranty, whether you've had problems with it or not. Warranty expiration is the last chance to get free repairs, so take full advantage of it.

Not just on Airstreams, but on any vehicle covered by a warranty.

Boogieshoes -> You might consider combining a short vacation with a visit to the mothership. JC has all the parts and does great work (I pass through JC twice each year with a list of todo items). Camping at the Terraport is free while you're in for repairs plus the night before and the night after (full hookups). There are some places to visit (Neil Armstrong Space Center, the Bicycle Museum and a Music ie. guitar museum). The comraderie among AS owners in the service center is a huge plus too. You do need to book in advance.
