Temporary Attachments to Exterior

I do a lot of flyfishing, and now that I have finally gotten my '69 Overlander on the road, I'd like to do more trips with it.

One of the modifications I"d like to make is to find a way to temporarily affix items to the outside of the trailer, particularly various types of rod holders, but other items as well. On my car I use magnetic devices, but I cannot imagine those will work on aluminum. Some of the products I've seen rely on suction cups which should work, but I'm wondering if there are other methods folks have used for temporary fixtures on the exterior of your AS?

You might want to try 3M's Command Strips. Use as many as necessary for the weights involved. Removal is easy and leaves no residue.
