I have a 1959 24 ft Tradewind that was parked outside in St Cloud it's entire life. If it was kept out of the grass and mud it's possible the frame is OK.
Even with some frame and floor damage it could be completely roadworthy with some work.
Mine is now totally roadworthy, but it did take a shell off restoration and many hours of work and about $20k in parts and materials. It took me 5 years of evening and weekend effort.

Your Mr. Fixit skills will improve dramatically. I'm not afraid to tackle anything now. Riveting, sheet metal fabrication, flooring, welding, electrical, cooking, plumbing, carpentry, painting.

Can you estimate how many labor hours were involved?

5 years is about 260 weeks. If you averaged 15 hours per week labor time, that would amount to almost 4,000 hours. Might this total be in the ballpark?

Thanks,

Peter

I wouldn't plan on using a 1959 Impala as a regular road car. Is regular use asking too much of a 60 year trailer?
markdoane's recent comment about a similar trailer restoration would seem to cover your situation possibly. Is a 5-year project involving nights and weekends something you had in mind?

I have looked at similar old AS's, and wondered if I had the gumption to complete the restoration.

Thanks,

Peter
