take your best shot!!!!
Hi, Thought I'd post some pics of the "new" Airstream we recently bought. It's an International Safari - have no idea what year as I cannot locate a VIN anywhere on the trailer or frame. The plate looks to be missing the the right of the door and the only numbers I can find are on the tongue. Looks like Marvel or something like that with a patent number.
I believe it's a 66,67, 0r 68?
Any guesses?
Took the toilet out to try to replace as we cannot locate parts.
Thanks,
David & Janet

I will say it is a 66 Safari.
The bigger window on the curb side would make it a 66 or 67. The toilet location makes it a 66.
What does the title say?

We did not get a title, just a bill of sale.

I don't suppose the Bill of Sale has a VIN? This could be a tough one to register...

It looks like a 1966. The bathroom and windows look just like mine. The cone shaped lamps look like they may have been painted?

On my '72, the VIN is also stamped on the A-frame of the trailer tongue. Did they do this in the 60's as well? If so, you might find it there.

Look in the top left corner of silverleeper's link for a sample of the VIN you are seeking. NNN is the sequential production number for that model, that year. The VIN could be:
JO226NNN - built in Ohio (round taillights)
JI226NNN - built in Ohio, International Options
SO226NNN - built in California (square taillights?)
SI226NNN - built in California, International Options
J = Jackson Center, OH
S = Santa Fe Springs, CA
Look on the steel frame itself under or just behind the LP tanks -- not on any add-on equipment.
