switch

There is an on and off switch behind my auto battery on my 84 310. what does this do?

I'm going to guess only because I've been reading a lot of stuff as a brand new owner of a '83 310. I believe that is to turn off everything in your rig so the batteries don't drain while sitting for a length of time. Also makes it so the coach won't start unless you know where the switch is and turn it on.

Hope I'm not steering you wrong -- I'm wanting to put one on my rig also.

Hi.
I have the same thing on an 85 sovereign I bought a few weeks ago.
PO told me its to turn everything on/off. On , once u r plugged in to get everything working. And Off so that in case u forgot say the pump on.. It's doesn't still run. Also supposedly prevents someone from maliciously switching back on ure power in ur RV is in storage.
