Thumbs up Spec Sheets From The Mothership

From Twitter yesterday:

AirstreamSvs We are busy working on our Customer Service page on the Airstream Website. Check out the newly added spec sheet's back to 1952.

It looks pretty comprehensive, everything from MoHo's to Argosy to Airstreams of all years. For real, they have vintage spec sheets and layout flyers that I haven't even seen on the VAC website. They even have my '56 SOTR preliminary specs before the final flyer was printed.

Thanks, Jackson Center, for doing this for us!

Very very cool. Some of the links don't work, but hopefully they will fix those soon. Thanks so much for sharing.

Very cool. Thanks Dacia. The flyer for my 59' Overlander is a bit different than the flyer that came with my trailer. The one Airstream has on their website shows the weight at 3850 and a hitch weight of 200 while my original shows a weight of 3410 and a hitch weight of 300. Of course neither will be correct when we are done with the restoration, but still kind of interesting.

Check out this quote from the 1978 price sheet -

"The suggested retail price includes a $10 contribution to the Wally Bayam Foundation, a fully accredited eleemosynary organization dedicated to the furtherance of International understanding and other worthwhile programs through the use of travel trailers."

"Eleemosynary" - relating to, given as, or depending on charitable gifts

It's truely a shame what the United States has lost in giving "equal" education to all - it's a further shame when I imagine what the verbal and written skills of the next generation might be.

Treasure Trove

Man this is a treasure trove of information! I was looking in the 1967 area and found out something I did not know...Airstream made a delivery van called and A/Van...go figure.

Norm, I also noticed the 1960 Tradewind layout differs from my own trailer layout. Their "1960" flyers look more like the 1961 and 62s with the angled galley sink. I don't think they have this down to a fine science yet. But I'm tickled they are giving us what they've got.

I did find an answer for a friend that just bought a 61 Caravel. The hole in his floor we've been puzzling over was originally a floor furnace.

It wouldn't be nearly as much fun to read if it were down to a science. These are just great. I've been poking through them all morning and learning all kinds of interesting layout options.

JP, thanks so much for making these available.

jpairstream,

Thanks for this work. Not a complaint, but a comment or request. Do you have any information on the 1953? 29' Liners. There are pictures on RJ Dial's site and I have a double door version and A-Merry-Can has a single door version. The two on RJ' site have different window configurations also.

I know that I would like more information on them and I am sure that A-Merry-Can would also.

Bill

Spec Sheets From The Mothership

What a wonderful treasuretrove of information. I definitely learned something new about the Argosy line. There is a 1980 brochure in the 1980 folder, but from all indications there were never any 1980 Argosy coaches produced. The Argosy line cancellation must have been a late term decision.

I would like to also add that if you notice brochures/specifications that are not in the correct location would you e-mail the specific model and year as well.

There will be times that the brochures may not be exactly like your trailer because the Ohio and California Production facility built items a bit different from time to time.
