Sniff. Whine. Moan.
Walked out to the Bambino to find this:
I think I would have noticed this yesterday when we were backing the trailer out of the driveway, but I can't think what would have hit me like this parked curb side. (it's the curb side back rear corner.) Whatever it hit me managed to miss the bumper yet hit the corner hard enough to crease it and scratch rivets and two panels.
Sigh. Well, I guess this is what insurance is for...

On the bright side, it gives me an excuse to go to Ohio.
The only thing I, J, or my insurance agent can figure out is vandalism, because it wasn't there when I pulled out of the driveway of my new place, wasn't there when I parked, but was there when I got up this morning.

Too bad!
They get their boo-boo's, they just do. The first one is always really hard.

Just high enough for a kid on a bike and the handlebars - ask me how I know.

Aargh, then I hope s/he had a jacket on, because those rivets would have hurt!

Probably was the handlebar. Look for a kid with a bandaged hand. Sal.

You are a good person.
Concern for their health would not have been my first response.

Well, what's not clear from the pic is that the panels have both been shoved in around the center line frame (or what I assume is the frame!), so if it was a kid on a bike, they had to have then hit the thing quite hard, so...ow! Accidents happen, and stuff is just stuff. If it was vandalism and i caught someone, though... Rowr!!!!!!

They could have fallen, making the impact likely more severe.
Could also have been a big "kid" rather than a little kid.

ouch! I'm sorry to see that... That really looks like something with a little more mass than an adult on a bike? To keep scraping over 4 rivets... Any chance you had lawn gardeners around that morning before you went out?

Too bad about the mark, but good luck with the insuyrance company. If it works anything like it does here, before you call, check your deductible, and get a rough quote on what it would cost.
Here, deductibles are often $500 now, and you'll pay it back to your insurance company in a few years, given he hike you will get in your insurance.
It's like they say about Las Vegas: they didn't build those fancy hotels with what the winners paid them...

Bummer!
Is that a scratch down in the lower right of the photo?
The big scratches in the middle don't seem to affect the rivets which means whatever it was was strong enough to scratch the body but flexible enough to bounce over the rivets. It has several things hitting the body to cause the parallel scratches, but they aren't consistent which is more like a:
Tree Branch?
But a branch wouldn't seem to cause such a large dent unless it was in the hand of a person. Whatever it was had to push inward as well as along the trailer.
While it is hard to believe you wouldn't have seen this at an earlier time, sometimes we just don't see things right away. Where else have you been?

I know, that's why we're a bit mystified - no lawn mowers, and on the curb side...but it had to be something on the sidewalk side...that could appear between when I parked it at 6 pm and when I looked out the window at 8:30 am. *sigh* The only other thing we can come up with is a neighbor who's mad it's parked on the street, or some kid who thinks vandalism is fun...
Id rather believe the accident theory, TBH...

Yeah, it's $500. Not sure how to get an estimate...a great excuse to go to Alumapalooza...

Zlee...
A dent is just a dent, but the filiform is still corrosion, what are the plans there?
JC may be able to install the belt molding at the same time.
