Shower floor not solid or properly braced.

Hi friends. I am on my first trip. All is well and I love my International 23fb. One item that I am curious about is the shower floor doens't feel that solid or properly braced. Like, when you move around towards the rear the shower floor buckles and makes a lot of noise. Now this could be normal. I just don't know. It feels as if it could use more support under the fiberglass.
any ideas or comments? I see a small access panel at the bottom.
PS: I am of average size, 185lbs.

Sorry - you're not average - in the US the average male is 5'6" and 140lb.s - female is 5'2" and 120lbs.: at least 10 years ago before I retired.
I notice it in my shower that was built in 1975 - only a midget can use it (or an average person). I'm 6' and my wife is 5'8" - so we use it for storage and use the one in the camp ground. Hopefully the newer ones are bigger - one reason I've been thinking of upgrading to a newer AS. Otherwise we love our AS - it has all been remodeled - also it is my first AS - after traveling with it for a few years, I think a 27' would be a better size and we wouldn't loose much in space. Easier to haul and maneuver.

Evidently AS has not learned how to support the shower floor. My 1981 has the tub made of PVC with plenty of gaps underneath. Having done lots of bath remodels in a past life I would say even installing a shower or bath in a stationary building it is only common sense to have a support "bed" under the pan. Sal

I would definitely "retrofit" support under a bath tub - water weighs 8.6 lbs. per gallon, that plus your weight - easy to do on most AS rear baths with a rear hatch with access to the back of the tub.

My retrofit was easy. A can of spray foam insulation with an extension tube to reach under the tub. Repairing the crack in the tub not that easy. Sal

The shower sits on a wood platform about 3 inches off of the floor and provides support in the area you typically would stand.this allows room for the tub basket and drain line. It is not down on the main floor so it will give.Your trailer may still have warranty left so if it is a major concern have it looked at by dealer.

We bought our 2008 17 foot safari sport new. The shower floor was not well supported. The movement of the floor would unseat the caluk around the floor pan and the shower water would leak out onto the bathroom floor. We recaulked several times. Finally, I removed the narrow panel in front of the shower and slid strips of thin plywood in under the floor pan. The floor is firm now and hasen't leaked since. That panel is fastened on with small nails.
