Shakedown Cruise no furnace

Just bought a new 2016 International Signature 25fb. The furnace won't light, fan will run on continuous setting but cuts off on auto. The dealer supposedly filled the tanks, I've bled the air out - the stove burner runs and the fridge runs on gas setting. I reset the thermometer and no dice.

Should I take the cover off the furnace to see inside?

Also, there was no manual in my package, what make / model furnace would it have? Atwood ?

Airstream has a phone number you can call on the weekend. The tech will cal you back and walk you through getting your furnace running. Good luck!

It's an Atwood most likely.

Take the cover off and look at the wiring, unplug and replug any connections and look at the ground wire in particular where it grounds out tighten the nut if there is one.

The same thing happened on my 2016 with the hot water and it was a bad ground connection under the outside cover.

Shut everything down first though, I didn't and when I twisted the ground on the stud it suddenly fired up but there was lots of extra propane around and got quite the scare.

Good luck!

There should be online instructions. Be sure the furnace mode is selected and the inside temp is lower than the thermostat setting.

Maybe the dealership could send someone out to finish their pre-delivery inspection they were paid by Airstream to do.

Try switching to the other tank. This worked for me once.

Tried all the troubleshooting I could without dismantling the furnace. I guess its a trip back to the dealer. Getting access to find model/ser no, reset , on/off switch is difficult.
Yea, it was very hot during our PDA so we didn't try the furnace.

Same happened to me

In January I left with my new 2016 27FB. The furnace would not work. Fortunately I was referred to a warranty authorized repair shop in Las Cruces NM. He removed the cover and replaced a plug in module. It was done in less than 2 hours and has worked great ever since.

You've gotta have adequate propane PSI in order to run the furnace. So make sure those tanks are full. Never trust the dealer.

In the RV world, your rig must be fully self-contained and you've gotta learn become fully self-reliant. It's what we do when we're on the road.

During our PDA of our prior 2015 FC20, they couldn't get the furnace to light even though the tech swore it had worked earlier. They ended up swapping out a circuit board and that resolved the problem.

I had the same thing happen on the second trip in our Airstream Interstate. Took it to the dealers when we got home after a VERY cold stay in the Colorado mountains, and to my chagrin, the service manager "fixed" the heater in less than three minutes.
  1. He took the thermostat off of Automatic and put it on Heat
  2. Pulled the front panel off of the furnace and toggled the rocker switch on the front panel of the furnace a couple of times.
  3. Paused for about 30 seconds and the furnace started right up. I have had to toggle that rocker switch off an on at least one time since but other thn that th furnace works great and keeps our AI cozy even in really cold weather.
If only I had known that "trick" while we were freezing in Colorado or it had been documented win the manual I don't know if your unit works the same way, but this is simple enough it is at least worth a look and try.

Wiggles

Our single furnace problem turned out to be a connector that had wiggled loose during the drive. Once we pushed it back in, everything worked fine. The problem was obvious once we opened it up and looked at it.

My CCC (not CCC2) has an unusually long delay when first turned on or changing modes. Just when I decide it isn't working, it starts.

We had the same issue in our 2015 International.
We opened the cover to the furnace, saw a piece of metal (from the plumbing?) laying on the board (must have shorted it out) then hit the reset button. Works now.
