He's typically pretty busy, and only has so much parking, so he does try to get trailers in and out. I leave mine there; I live only about 75 minutes away.

Thanks Tom, I will call him next week if I don't get a reply to my email. He is probably swamped right now.

Have a good Labor Day weekend!

Happy Trails,

Peter

FYI George did call me yesterday and we set up an appt. for October (which was our personal preferred timing). Thanks again Tom for this valuable contact.

Happy Trails!

FYI Tom, our appt. with George worked out great. Repacked the bearings with new seals, and adjusted the brakes. The auto detailer next door washed and waxed the trailer at the same time. I recommend Classic RV entirely, as his experience at the former CT AS dealer was extensive and it shows in his knowledge and careful work.

Thanks again for everyone's recommendations.

Peter

Peter, glad that I could help. I need to get my trailer there in the next few weeks to get a few bugs worked out.

Thanks again, Tom, for the help last year. Have you been in to see George this year at his new location? We have some misc. items for him to look at.

Hope your summer is going well!

Cheers,

Peter

What kind of work have they done for you, and do you know anything about their capabilities with adding solar panels etc.?

Also, do you know if Airstream has authorized them to do warranty work? [Not sure if any private shops are?]

Thanks,

Peter
Peter, when it adding solar panels, unless you really know all about the solar system - eg the various panel options, the type, brand & model of controller, whether there will also be an inverter, and if so, whether integrated with the charger/converter, and even more so, the gauge of wire required given the amperage it will be carrying and the length of the run - go to a solar specialty shop who know the capabilities of the components.

FWIW, I had by last solar panel upgrade done in Quartzsite AZ at Discount Solar. They did good work for me.

Hi Peter - No, I haven't seen him yet this year. I also have a list of things to get done; I had made an appointment to take the trailer there, but family matters forced me to postpone it. I'm hoping to get the trailer there in the next 2 weeks.

Hi Tom,

Hope you had a good summer!

We just made an appt. for October with George. Did your service visit work out OK? At the new location, what kind of parking is available, as we are hoping to leave the AS for a couple of days. I did not want to ask George about this as he was on his cell phone when we spoke.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter! Yes - my visit worked out fine. Nice new shop, a lot deeper than the old one.

The day I was there, George was swamped with trailers, so I grabbed mine ASAP. There is more parking there than at the old location, but I'd let George know that you'd have to leave it a few days.

It's easy to get to - right off of 84 - just keep an eye out for the small Classic RV sign on the business complex's big sign of signs. George is right at the end of the building as you pull in.

Tom

Thanks. I noticed Fahnestock SP close to George:

https://parks.ny.gov/parks/133/details.aspx

https://www.google.com/maps/search/f.../data=!3m1!1e3

Have you ever been there? Not sure how many sites are trailer-friendly.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks again for the earlier feedback, Tom. Any thoughts on Fahnestock SP?

Thanks,

Peter
