Thank you!

Pantry Demo and more Carpet Demo

When the carpet was removed we were left with this surprise. Nothing like giant holes covered by orange carpet to help me make my case for all new sub-floor!

We started by taking off doors

And then took out the upper cabinet

and then went the accordian divider and a wall.
After that the metal frame for the cabinet

Progress!

You going to throw away the interior. Mine is an 81 and it did not have any real wood in it. Yours looks like it at least had come veneer. Mine was rotted worse than that at the rear.

A lot of it will be thrown away. I am going to keep some things around in hopes of using them again but we are not banking on it.

Fridge Out!

We finally got the fridge out. We had some trouble shooting to do but once we did that everything went smoothly.

It took a good dose of WD40 but Tim was finally able to get the propane unhooked

What we learned is that every once in a while we need to take the time to do a quick vacuum of this area. I don't know if it ever had been cleaned but the gunk build up made taking out the fridge tough.

Once all wires and propane were unhooked we unscrewed the base of the fridge.

Unplugged it and then it was ready to be hauled out!

Once the final wall was out we were left with this. We are over half done with demo!

I wish I had the interior stuff you are throwing out and that you were closer. At least your stuff was wood.

Most of it was water damaged particle board. It was in no condition to save. We saved the cabinet doors and drawers though. Those were solid.

Bathroom Demo Part One

Here is the bathroom before demo

We took out the wall and exposed the first plumbing

Cabinets next.

Counters and vanity came out pretty easy.

We ended the day here.

We hope to finish the bathroom this weekend.

Looking good. It's amazing how Airstreams didn't change over the years. Your breakdown is giving me flashbacks of our 1979 breakdown.

Meg, when you removed the old drapes did you just toss them out? They have small slides for the tracks top and bottom. I am planning on making up a set of drapes, and if possible, I'd like to get the plastic/nylon slides. They can be reused. PM me if you still have them and are willing to pass them along.

Thanks

Howard

@blkmaikca We didn't keep them and have unfortunately thrown them away. Many of them had broken. You can buy them at Vintage Trailer supply. They are not the cheapest but for the specific use the price isn't so bad. Vintage Trailer Curtain Carriers Tiebacks

Kitchen Demo

The kitchen has been our dumping ground and holding zone. Just like our kitchen counters in our house, the counter top in Alice was collected all our stuff. Before we could begin demo we had to clean.

And then we were here!
