Roof sealants

I'm new to this AS maintenance since I've towed a white box maintenance free for yrs. I had a leak in the roof in the front roadside area of the roof and I erroneously applied silicone! That took care of the leak but then I read the forums. So, spent several days removing the silicone. Now there seems to be many suggestions as to what sealant to use. I came to the conslusion that maybe I should use Vulkem or Tempro 635 for large areas and Aacryl-R for the seams and rivits.

I contacted the nearest AS dealer and was informed thaat they use Dicar self leveling lap sealant. From looking at the Dicar video, it looks like this was what was used at the factory. (It was a stinker to remove). Would appreciate any suggestions on which way I should go?

Also, I need to replace the roound rubber gasket under the rd Ventline tank vent cap. Dealer says he's never seen one. Do I need it?
