Rodents

Any ideas on how to keep mice from getting in the floor cabinets? We have a 2008 27ft Classic FB and just got back from a 3 week trip to Utah. We found "evidence" of rodent activity in several cabinets and can't figure out where they are getting in. Needless to say they have made a mess!

I used aluminum duct tape to seal as many exterior holes as I could find. Same inside around pipes, etc coming thru the flooring.

Hi

The bottom of the trailer *should* be sealed up. First thing to do is to check and see if that is (still) true. Next possibility is that they came in with something. Depending on their size, they may be able to jump up the steps if the screen door is open.

As the video posted above notes, getting rid of them can take a while. First step is to seal off all your food and garbage. The Kleenex supply is probably already long gone if they are anything like the rodents around here ....

My airstream and my class A motorhome are both stored in my tractor barn. The class A always had problems with mice getting in so sealed everywhere and it slowed them down. I then tried peppermint oil, fresh cab, dryer sheets, etc. but didn't work so set mouse traps and check them couple times a week. First few weeks I got 4,after that I get 1 every month or so. Funny thing is my airstream is parked right next to it and hasn't had a mouse yet knock on wood lol.

Now that Class A motor home as bait is one way to keep mice out of the Airstream. Expensive, but apparently effective.

We don't know for sure whether this actually helps, but anytime we find a suspicious-looking crevice we stuff some of this into it, hoping to impede any potential mouse highways. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G6YL5E

Put poison bait blocks in the area outside your trailer.

Hi

If you or the neighbors have pets that run around in the area, check the labels on any bait to be sure it's not going to kill them ....That or stash it so the pets can't get to it.
