restore emblem-help

I'm looking for a picture of a restored Safari emblem, for reference as far as color and finish...anyone? It's the long rectangled one to the right of the entry door.
Thanks,
Barry

Thanks, but mine's differenet being a '56.

A '66 is like this or this. If it's like the first one, it's an annodized finish that I don't think can really be re-done. Your best bet is to get a new plate from VTS and stamp it to match your existing....either that or live with it splotchy.

It it's like the second one, it can be repainted with Rustoleum "Royal Blue" for a pretty good match.

Thanks Shari.. it is like the second one...Royal blue is the correct color? . Any idea what the color scheme is? It seemed like the left and right sides were grey looking with blue lettering , and the center piece, I can't tell? Ideas?

I'm not sure...I've had a '64 which is like th first one - we chose to leave it as is. I currently have a the '56 shown in my avatar. I've never restored a '66 or newer emblem so I don't have any first hand experience or know the variations. But the process would be similar to my '56 which I posted about here, just opposite because most of my letters are raised.

Thanks Shari. Our emblem is not anything like your 56 one. It is a copy of your 2nd this in you first post. It's a two piece, not the single plaque type you have i believe. Thanks for the colors I guess we can wing it for placement of them.
