Replacing toilet
Locate mounting bolts at the base of unit and remove. Use a 1/4in drive ratchet and correct size socket and remove mounting nuts. Make sure water line is disconnected. Lift unit off the floor. Remove mounting bolts. If the base is not going to be replaced clean the mounting bolt holes. Install new mounting bolts. Center bolts in the slots and silicone in place with bathtub caulk so that they are stationary and upright. Let silicone set up for approximately 12 to 24 hours. This makes it easy to install the new unit without problems with mounting bolt alignment. If you don't silicone the bolts in place they move around when you are trying to put the new unit down. Don't over tighten the nuts. Use just enough silicone so that it is doesn't extend above the base.
