Replacing rivets on newer International

My newer 2015 International, 27FB, has lost 4 rivets inside the cupboards on the curb side. Not sure how this happened. I am 1000 miles from home in Louisiana and do have the airstream rivet replacement gun with an assortment of rivets. I think I need to drill out the stem of the rivet, and simply replace them. However the kit has two lengths of the 1/8 " smaller rivet, 3/8" or 1/2", and I am not sure which to use, or if it makes any difference. Or can this wait until I get back to my dealer and have it done under warranty? Thanks.

Probably either will work, but I would use the 1/2". If you now own an Airstream you might as well start now to learn how to replace rivets!! Interior ones are the easiest. There are lots of threads here on how to do the job. Good luck!! Chris

Foley Airstream is in Gulfport Mississippi, if you are not too far from them, they could do it under warranty.

There is no reason to replace these rivets right now.
Replace these at your leisure!
Some trailers pop rivets while others will never loose one.
Stop worrying and have a great trip.
You need not buy the very expensive rivet gun from Airstream. A $5 gun from Harbor freight will pop a rivet just as well as a $100 factory gun.
Lowest and HD or any hardware store sells the guns as well as the aluminum shank pop rivets.

rivets

We just had a few replaced at our dealer for our 2015, under warranty. Always easier to have the pro do it!
