I found mine. I just bought this trailer last week. I still haven't found everything yet or recognize it yet. Sorry for the trouble vswingfield. Have a great day down there in Little Rock. Snowing to beat the band here. 3'4' drifts and still coming.

I remember the high plains snowstorms. I lived a while in the OK panhandle and several years in the TX panhandle.

It's supposed to avoid us, at least so far. Maybe snow in northwestern and western AR, but every time I look at the weather more counties are being included in the forecast.

Here it is rain and flooding! I just checked and we are now at 80.5 inches of rain so far, the old record was 75.5" in 1888. Channel 11 weather just interviewed a woman trying to get out of LR. It took her over 3 hours to get to LR from Bryant! For anyone unfamiliar with the area, see this Yahoo! Maps, Driving Directions, and Traffic online map. It looks like the problem is with the northeast bound lane of I30 so far.

Staying home with your wife tonight sounds like a great plan. Enjoy.

Service manuel

Hello all. Im a new owner of a 31' soverign international and the year thing is confusing me. The trailer came with a 1974 owners manuel but the registration says 1971. I looked at the code on the plate and it says;
I31a4j2121 Which when I looked it up said it was= International 31' cntr bath, twin bed rear, Jackson Cntr OH, 1970s.
On the sticker near the door it says 73 oct. SO what service manuel do I get>>>???
How can I tell what year it really is? Where is the VIN on these trailers.LOLOL
What service manuel am I looking for? 71 or 73 or 74?
Thank for any help you can give

The serial number says you have a 1974 31 foot Airstream.

It's also the first year that gray tanks were installed.

Does your Airstream have a gray water tank?

Andy thanks for the info. As to the grey tank I am unsure. the trailer is in NH and I am in Maine. Im getting ready to haul it back this week end to really get a look at things and find out more about it. I will let you know and I will have photos. I have to research what to look at to haul it for 3.5 hours back. Such as brakes, greasing bearings, tires all that first.
Thanks again one and all

manuals

I have the orignal 1973 sales brochure, 1973 airstream owners manual and 1973 airstream service manual. My trailer is a 23' 1973 Safari Land Yacht. The manual includes parts list, procedures for maintence and adjustments, service operations, removal and installation for components, including option for airstream 21,23 T&D, 25 T&D Land Yacht and 27 T&D, 29 T&D, 31 T&D International rear bath and center bath models.

I can have them scanned or copied if your interested

Viper2,
Welcome to airforums.com. I like your choice of trailer.

Congratulations on getting a '74. I am sure yours has a gray tank, but so that you are too, next time you see your trailer, open the large hatch on the rear vertical surface (the "trunk") and look in.

At the back, you will see either one or two "guillotine" style valves. The one on the right is your grey tank's open/close valve. Pulled up it's closed, and pushed down, it's open. Same for the black tank one on the left side.

Read up in your book to understand how and when to use them, BEFORE messing with them.

Good luck, and I can't wait to see lots of photos of the exterior and interior! Is it a mid-bath, or mid bed model?

Aage

This is exactly what I am looking for! I have the same exact trailer, and I am about to start the renovation process. Please let me know what I need to do to get a copy of this manual.

You can order the manuals thru a dealer that does telephone orders, or on line orders.

For all intentions, etc, the Airstream books are the same, since the design is the same, at least in the vast majority of the time. Certainly, better than nothing.

Not all Airstreams are the same similar perhaps but for sure the place and the parts may surely be different. I did call Secretarial Services in Sidney OHIO (937)492-8885 and was most pleased and surprised that they were responsive and helpful, in sending me the manual I needed and was not upset that I interupted there nap as with many of the other places I did call. Try this place you at least be greeted with a Hello and a smiling voice.

Rae Baker an OLD Fart with an Old Argosy.. People kep asking me if I want to sell it.

You can obtain a reproduction of the service manual from Airstream. They offer the manuals through their on-line store at this link.

There is also a vendor on e-Bay who offers manuals on DVD, and at one time he had some Airstream manuals among those that he offered.

Good luck with your coach!
