Hi
Welcome !!!!
There are a pretty small number of people out there who are good at doing restoration work. How much needs to be done?
Routine maintenance is easier to find. There likely are several RV outfits around who could work on your new RV. Most of the bits and pieces are common to many brands.

Hi Bob- thanks so much for your reply. IWe purchased the airstream privately and people we purchased it from were supposed to complete the work- however upon delivery learned much of it was incomplete- some plumbing, electrical, and some finish work. I have an itemized list which but we were not expecting so much work to be left unfinished so we are in a bit of a jam... i will try to post more specifics but any local resources appreciated.

Hi
The next layer to this is that most of the people (the closest I can think of is down in New York) are pretty heavily booked up. You might find somebody and then have to wait for several months before a slot opens up. Even for routine maintenance, a wait of weeks is not unusual. Service at the factory usually involves three to five months notice.
Is the RV roadworthy as is? If not, I'd address that first.

It is road worthy- just made the trip from Arkansas to Maine- although I believe had some minor issues along the way due to some of the unfinished work.

Hi
Ok, if it's in good enough shape to do a camping run, that's way better condition than what I was "hearing" in your post. I'd start digging into the various repair threads and see who people are happy with. Then start making calls and check scheduling.

For the plumbing work you could probably just hire a regular plumber. The only 2 differences between a trailer and house for plumbing are the amount of room to work and the trailer would normally need to be winterized.
The electrical is a mix of 12 volt and 120 volt which may scare off many electricians. Worse is that many regular electricians are ignorant enough to insist your 30 amp trailer plug is 240 volts.

I realize this is not real close to Southern Maine but they do great work at a good price.

Try Gradients LLC in Plattsburgh, NY. We stored our 2015 FC28 and F150 with them for a couple of years. They performed basic maintenance and several modifications. Not cheap but do an excellent job. They do all kinds of restoration and modification work.518-536-0194, depending on where in Maine you start it would be a few hour drive for you.
We live in California and it was nice to be able to leave it with them and have it ready to go when ever we need it.

We just got our 23' Safari back from Colin Hyde, after he and his crew repaired the damage from a blowout, installed Dexter lift kits, and sealed leaky seams.
The workmanship, documentation and professionalism were superb, and the work completed in a timely manner. None of these apply to my experience with his competitor on the other side of Plattsburgh (read my Better Business Bureau review-storage is one thing, restoration/modification another thing entirely)

renovations in Southern maine
Thanks so much for all of this information- I will be looking into all of these options. I have been in touch with Silver Moose and sounds like they are booking quite far out. I will have many more questions as we work our way through this process....any advice and resources are appreciated.

Airstream of Nashua, NH is also in Lebanon Maine. They have trained technicians. They used to be called Profile. airstreamofnashua.com
Prime Mercedes forces mostly on Airstream Interstates, not trailers

Just a word on repairs. Your Airstream systems are no different than any other RV. If you need plumbing, electrical, road gear, LP or AC work done, any reputable RV dealer can do that work. With several caveats:
1)any systems that attach to the exterior surface, ie water heater. they probably won't know how to properly do that job.
2)Floor repairs - just stay away from them and leave it to experience AS folks.
3)Leaks - the above applies.

Profile State Line Superstore
I just called Profile in Lebanon, where I bought my Safari and get my work done, to ask about the name change that is reported a few posts above. Airstream of Nashua and Airstream of Lebanon, Maine are just d/b/a’s. Both are still the same company.
I have had minor repairs done there, and actually stored my Safari in their warehouse last winter for the first time. I haven’t had any major work done, because I haven’t needed any. However, the prior owners did have some significant repairs done before I bought the trailer. Everything has worked out fine.
