Reinforce roof for AC-‘62 Safari?

I’m looking to add an AC unit to my ‘62 Safari. I’ve been reading about the importance of reinforcing the interior roof structure to support the added weight. Here’s a picture of the opening where I plan to install the AC. I have the interior skin removed so now would be a good time to do something.
Does it look like I need reinforcement? My uninformed assessment would be ‘no’ but, if so, I want to take advantage of the situation. :-)
Thanks in advance!
Laura

Reinforce roof for AC-‘62 Safari?

We added 1x2 wood inside of aluminum frame as AC mounting will squeeze the aluminum framing

Look up the rough opening requirements of your particular ac unit. the 14x14 inch opening is where the reinforcing is needed. Yours looks good but the ribs may not fall where needed, in which case you would need to add some ribbing. I used 1 1/2 c channel. Just make sure you tie any ribs that you add into the existing framing. If the existing ribs are 14 inches apart your good.
