refrigerator vent shield is loose

Are there any do or don'ts for this repair?

My vertical shield between the air conditioner and the refrigerator roof vent is already loose. Its currently held on by only three sheet metal screws with no sealant. One of the screws is already completely unsecured. MY plan is to obtain larger size screws and refasten, followed by sealant completely around the shield.

What does everybody think?
