Refrigerator Problem

I've just encountered a problem with the Dometic refrigerator in my 2005 Airstream International CCD that I can't seem to find the answer for reading the factory manual.

The problem is that it stopped cooling when it's hooked up to electrical power but it works just fine on propane. I've leveled it which seems to be a common issue - If it were that I think it wouldn't work with either source.

It works in one mode but not the other. I'm stumped. What should I be checking that I'm not?

The quick answer is.....
for whatever reason the electric element is not working.
Is it pluggeg into shore power? Is the trudge plugged into a live 110 receptical? Breaker tripped?
Using a dvm check the heater element and see.of it is getting voltage. If it is.... replace the heater element. If no voltage then.suspect the.control board.

I suggest you find and read the troubleshooting manual for your model.

First, I'm assuming that you haven't accidentally pushed the AUTO/GAS button to lock it on propane (don't ask me how I know this could be the problem). Is the control panel indicating automatic or propane?

Second, there is a shore power outlet in the outside refrigerator compartment. The refrigerator plugs into that. Check to see that the cord hasn't fallen out of the receptacle. Check the outlet for good power. If it's plugged in, the power there is good, and the indicator is on automatic, the heating element is probably burned out. If you have shore power at the receptacle at the back of the fridge and you can't get the propane light out with the AUTO/GAS button, the control board is probably bad. Your manual may have a different/better process depending on your model.
