Refrigerator Fan Replacement

New to site. I need to replace a noisy refrigerator fan in our 23FB Flying Cloud. What is the proper wiring scheme to add a second two wire fan and have it operate with a switch, while the first fan continues to operate automatically when the frig cuts on. Note, I am out over my skis on this project so keep it simple. Thanks.

There are several threads on different ways people have done this. I bought a larger computer chassis fan, and hooked it up. It moves more air, quieter, and uses less power than the OEM fan.

BitFenix Spectre Pro 230mm Case Fan BFF-SPRO-23030KK-RP Black is the fan that I installed.

I tried to post pictures. Will do later when I can do so from the desktop.

Refrigerator Fan Replacement

Thanks Matti, I bought two identical Silenx 120 mm fans and isolated them from each other with rubber gasket material to keep the vibration to a minimum. I further isolated the tandem unit from the vehicle. I believe 1 of the fans (rated at 72 CFM) will be sufficient to keep the frig cool at night (when the noise from the OEM fan was waking me up at night), and then on warm days I can turn the second fan on. As I said my question comes in switching that second fan. I looked at the threads you sent, thank you, but neither one addressed my issue. A real simple diagram, even hand drawn, is all I need at this point. TIA

I looked at the specs of the fan and with both of them running you will not hear them running inside. Those fans are barely audible in a computer case let alone in your AS. I can't hear my fan inside and barely can hear it standing next to the vent.

The only thing you need to worry about is the amp draw while dry camping, and the two draw less than the OEM fan.
Sorry not an electrician and have no idea how to switch them individually.
