Rear vent extra wires

Howdy!

I removed the rear fantastic fan to resolve a noise.
After dropping the inner panel to resolve a noise I found two wires, tied together. They had individual wire nuts on each wire.

What are these wires for?

If they are solid wire, like 12 gage, they are probably a pre wire for a second AC unit should you decide to get one.

If they are stranded wire, some kind of a 12 volt lighting circuit which is unused.

Was the power vent original equipment? On mine they had replaced a non-power vent with lighting below it with a power fan. The two wires went to the lighting. I bought a automatic bottom (pushbutton) for the fantastic fan and replaced the light fixture using the two wires. Thus power fan and light! Fantastic should provide this option.

Stranded wire. Orange in color not heavy enough for AC ;(

Was in hurry so did not check voltage at the wires.

We have another ceiling light just ahead of the fan. I think the fan was stock but will verify. It would be too easy if an AC wiring. Wishfully hoping.

If you fish around up there you may find a piece of Romex type wire which would be for an AC unit. Hard to say what they put in though.

Could have been wires for the thermostat for the rear Fantastic vent.

So. Would that be a hardwired tstat? We have a remote temp sensor on the handheld. Was that another option?

Some models had a hardwired thermostat on the bedroom wall.
