Range hood filter -

1977 Airstream Sovereign 31' -

I need to replace the aluminum grease filter in the range hood; 22" X 12." The expanded aluminum filter material is pretty clogged/shot.

I've tried cleaning it in the past, but with marginal success. I would prefer to replace the material instead.

Some years back, I managed to find some bulk, expanded aluminum filter material in an old-fashioned mom & pop hardware store. But I can't seem to find it any more.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Thank you.

Tom

Our furnace at home has an electrostatic filter system which has a pre-filter of this aluminum filter material. Thus, I would suggest contacting an HVAC service contractor to see if he has a panel that you could cut down to fit your needs.

Aluminum? Mine were stainless steel and were cleaned soaking in lye solution. Don't use lye on aluminum or galvanized.

I have found that running them through the dishwasher on "sanitize" cycle (very hot) cleans them very well.

I'll try the HVAC route. Thank you for the good advice.
