Question for PDX folks

Just a general question on repair and maintenance in the Portland area. Who do you trust in this area to perform routine maintenance and repair? I'm not certain I am getting quite what I expect from the person I am using now. Feel free to respond offline if needed.

Thanks in advance.

We use Airstream Adventures in Gladstone. I can only think of one fix that wasn't done properly and they made it right.

We have just used Airstream Adventures (Tim Reese was the guy handling our repairs) for our 92 Excella and they did a very good job and were personable. They did make a mistake in diagnosis of an electrical problem that we worked out - and they installed a convertor for free that I had shipped to them (I could buy it for less than half their cost) once we found that that was the real culprit of our electrical problem. I'll go back there again if for no other reason that there are so many great places to eat in nearby Portland!!

Hey Drathaar,

I've had an OK experience to Airstream Adventures. Sunset RV is pretty close to you in Forest Grove. I noticed a new place advertising Airstream work in north PDX in Craig's List.

Let us know what you find. I'm up in Seaside, maybe see you on the 101!

AS Adventures NW

Agreed, AS Adventures NW in the Portland area has done a great job on our rig a number of times. Very professional in all our dealings.

While traveling last year we had a water pump quit working in the San Juan Islands and their AS NW Seattle area dealership took care of us in less than an hour! At no charge!

Good luck!

After thinking about it more, a rating of "OK" may be a bit generous. They had some blunders which impacted my trailer and my wallet. "Use caution and have EVERYTHING in writing" is probably a better rating.

I'm sure they're solid on newer, late model stuff, but I don't think major vintage restoration is their thing. Which doesn't leave us with a lot of options in PDX...best is probably to learn and DIY.
