Pendleton Rear Hatch

has any Pendelton owner had a problem with the rear hatch bracket bending and/or the strut coming off. I have had it happen two times. Either the strut is too strong or the bracket is too week. I love the rear hatch but this problem is disappointing.

Oh that would be disappointing!

We have only had ours about a month now but have not encountered this issue (despite countless opening and closings of the hatch as it is the favourite means of entry for my children and she's parked in my driveway )

Hopefully a quick bracket replacement will fix it right up once and for all.

If you go to the Eddie Bauer section there are a couple threads on the rear hatch gas springs and brackets, including some alternate part numbers and sources. As I remember it was last summer but should be quick to find.

Unfortunately the one bracket has already been replaced. Now one bracket is bent enough for the strut to pop off and the other is starting to bend.
