You should make him take your name. There's far more fun to be had with the word play possible with Wong. There is humour to be had in a sign that reads: "The Wong Place". My Chinese neighbor had such a sign at the foot of his driveway and he delighted in the reactions from visitors to the sign.

Love the sign idea...our Airstream was husband's parents - it is a 1975 31 ft. Sovereign. The 'thing to do' when they traveled was to place the state you were from on your Airstream. Ours says INDIANA in blue 3 inch stick-on letters. I believe they said that they obtained the letters at an International Rally. We would love to find a source for the same 3 inch letters so we could also place TEXAS along side their INDIANA letters. Anyone have an idea or source?

Sure, post a photo. I'm curious if they are unusual or not.

I had a friend named Wong Ling-- He worked for the phone company...
He swore he didn't realize it until I pointed it out to him...

Very cool photos!! I would live to see more old vintage airstream pics. I am curious-- what is the red plate/sign below the wally numbers on your parents' trailer?

Regarding the blue stick-on letters for state names, we have "Baton Rouge, LA" on ours.

Here's our Sovereign of the Road

Do I worry about a thief going to my house... not with the current gas prices... and my neighbors are locked and loaded!

Melissa - One thought - If you have given your trailers "names", you could have those painted on. That could be cool.

red sign below WBCC numbers

The Red sign was the original Caravan Club logo. It simply said "Wally Byam Caravan"

I believe it preceeded the round globe style logo we have today. The tailer is a 1959, so is is of that era.

That is the same badge, decal, or logo. It was originally red. It may have signified that you had traveled on a WB Caravan, or was the original club emblem. My parents & I had gone on a Canadian, a Mexican Caravan by that time.

I may have to do the vinyl lettering idea on the side, too! We put our trailer's names on the back window, but they do look nicer on the front quarter. Last name and the city... that way the kids and dogs don't feel left out!
