Wow, am I stupid or what.

I purposely put an apostrophe between BRUMBACK and S to signify possession, and to avoid the misunderstanding of whether our name ends in an "s" or not.

If you will refer to the first picture in this post you will notice that my father had BRUMBACKS on our 1959 International. He subsequently changed to BRUMBACK's on later trailers ('62, '68, '73, "79 & '83) because people constantly thought our name had an "s" on it.

Stupid.....maybe. But, not without thoughtful consideration.

It's all according to what you want to say.

For example, "Hi I'm THE BRUMBACK and this is THE BRUMBACK'S trailer.

Or, Hi we are THE BRUMBACKS and this is THE BRUMBACKS' trailer.

The apostrophe is not technically correct, however it is used it seems 99% of the time. So I suppose it will get into the dictionary as sanctioned by usage eventually.

So I gue's's I might as well get u'sed to it.

I'm glad I used a vinyl decal! I can always peel the apostrophe off!

there's always room for one more!

I have a friend who refers to those as "hypostrophes." Short for hyperbolic (as in extra) apostrophe.

But now, thinking about the "Brumack's" trailer, it makes sense. Very thoughtfully considered indeed.
