final project on '63 Tradewind restoration

Well I finally have everything finished, and as the final christening I had our name "painted" of the Airstreeam.

When you see me at a rally or on the road please honk and wave.

Excellent!! Looks really sharp and right at home on that polished aluminum. I'm planning on doing the same once I give the trailer one more polishing pass this winter.

BTW: I use Adobe Illustrator for my sign painter to cut the vinyl lettering.

I really do like the way that looks. I hope this old tradition becomes a new fad that sweeps the club.

I really like that look M&M. It sure adds to the classic look of your trailer.

Seeing that now I think I need to do the same next spring. I have been thinking about doing the Flying Cloud name and then just our first names but still debating. The shy one in the family thinks not having our names painted on the trailer would be the better decision.

Thanks,

Barry

I like the sticker idea. You can put on a new one every year after a fresh polish. Here's ours. I know what you mean about having your name on there, though. I think on the little one, we're going to do the trailer name instead

Oh my gosh the Brumback's!!

This is a pet peeve of mine and a sign painter's common mistake.

It should have been the Brumbacks if you mean to indicate the Brumback family.

An apostrophe indicates ellipsis (leaving out letters) or possession. So unless Brumback's is short for something that means possession. If you mean it is the trailer that belongs to the Brumbacks then it should have been The Brumbacks' (trailer).

Unless you are a clan chieftain? According to Scottish usage that would make you the Brumback of the Brumbacks and The Brumback's would be correct to indicate the trailer of The Brumback.

I'm sorry to go on about this but it is one of those things that drives me nuts.

PLEASE don't let your sign painter make this mistake! Just put your name no apostrophe!

We are also going to put our name, the Taylors on our trailer along with the former owners ,now deceased, as a thankyou to them for taking such good care of our baby. Hopefully this will continue on so the next owners will have a feeling of Pearls history.

I too made the " 's " mistake on our trailer. I removed it. Now it is just the "s" proper english and all....

the proper english thing is kinda tricky if your name ends in an S... i think s' means possessive, like it's the patsios' trailer... not necessarily the patsioses as a roaming horde... I guess that's right? who knows... It's kinda like writing your name in your underwear... is it ME, or is it MY underwear?

Anyway, for our other trailer, we opted to go with the trailer name instead. No one knows who I am (security), and no worries about possessive or whatever. The trailer's called the Silver Pickle, so there you go! Kinda like a tricked out name tag. haha!

And if your last name was Bogus? Would people refer to your trailer phonetically as the Bo-gus-es trailer. Would the proper possessive form read Bogus'? And most importantish would your family members collectively be referred to properly as the Bogii?

My first name is Marcus. I have faced this issue my entire life and I have been traumatized by it.

I wish you luck, it can be very painful.

Sincerely,
Marcus' typing hands.

Or does it really matter to 99.9% of the people who will see it?

And are we sure that any of this is correct?

Or perhaps are we resetting what is acceptable? These are Airstreams after all so perhaps we have no rules or can make our own rules since I'm so often told that Airstreams rule.

Mine is pretty simple

"Hers and I get to tag along"

I know it is not Hurs because Ben is not involved, just Barry.

I was going to put our last name but thought that when people realized who it was they'd not let us stay there for security reasons - their security that is.

Even better, since my friends identical trailer is shinier (thus is it still identical?) I could put his name on mine so then people would think mine is the shinier one

I was thinking I might call my next cat Peeve. It seems to make sense doesn't it?

Boy, it must be the good drugs the doctor has me on right now. I can't believe I just wrote all that.

Barry (I think)
