On our maiden voyage I made a rookie mistake in turning out too sharply and caught the rear awning arm on a post and wrecked the inner arm and mounting clamp. Luckily, we can still use the awning and I am an expert at using tie wire for things like this
I found an inner arm on EBay but when it arrived, it was straight rather than having the 15° or so bend in it which it needs to follow the AS contour when stowed.
Any ideas on where to look?
Another option is to place a bend in the arm I have maybe using a shop press with some sort of dies to fit inside the channel. Aluminum seems quite brittle and I wonder if some heating would be required prior to attempting to bend it?
