Newbie+Awning replacement=Confoundation.

Hello All!
I've been perusing the ASForums for a couple years, mostly looking at ads, dreaming, yearning and then BAM! The Universe presented a 1999 Bambi (19ft) that had my name on the bellypan. Found online from a local RV dealer, she's in my affordability range, stills goes down the road, and I can take camping As-Is (mostly). And my credit union gave me a loan, go figure!!

As you can see, as I did when I looked at her, there is no awning. Because I had been lurking around and reading all y'alls adventures in repairs, I hoped that replacing the fabric could be done with some looking at the binder of manuals that came with her, following links/YouTube suggestions, etc. without resorting to replacing the whole shebang with a spankin' new ZipDee (shook-DING $$). I also need a lower bracket, as the repair that was made by prior owner will not hold. In addition, I'd like to add the snazzy aluminum protective covers that the roller fits under to prevent the rot that made the original awning fall apart in the first place, IF it's possible. HOWEVER, I don't even know what A&E Dometic model I have; my booklet just says "Curved Square 1" Hardware" on the front- no numbers. I did download the service manual from a link on a different ASForums thread which had all the Bambi parts listed, but there was no model number for interwebs searching.

I have perused the Sunbrella patterns, I have a seamstress with the required HD sewing machine, my Husfriend is an ex-NWA aviation (as well as automotive) mechanic, and is pretty much on board with tools/talent for installation. But getting the info pertaining to model, parts, and possibility of actually recreating a working awning with the existing A&E is confounding me. I am the shopper, the finder, the refreshments and parts runner. Before we take the awning assembly off the Bambi, I'd like to know what all is possible. Help me Mr. Wizard!

Some of the parts are the same across a number of models. More photos of the damage would be helpful. To get you started here are a few parts on Dyers website to compare to your damaged parts.

I'm not sure if the alumigard from carefree will install with dometic/A&E awning parts. Hopefully someone else can lead you in the right direction on that topic.

It may be worthwhile calling Zip Dee - 800-338-2378 - and speaking with Randy. They can make up the entire awning with all the hardware and ship it to you for you to install.
