New option for Sewer Hose storage

The stinky slinky storage tube on my 2005 26' Land Yacht is too short for a decent-size hose, and it will not accommodate either of the connections on the ends. After studying this issue for a while, I decided to buy a section of 5"
vinyl fencepost and two end caps. I then cut a square hole in my left-side rear mudflap and attached the post using the two holes where the plastic pins that hold the safety cover over the LP tank plumbing. I had to drill two holes in the bottom of the post where I could insert a screw-driver, since I didn't want any nuts or bolts protruding into the tube where they could damage the hose, or impede its insertion or removal. I'm not an engineer, but by George, I think this is going to be a winner, unless someone tells me that I've voided a warranty or something. This relatively simple and inexpensive approach does nothing to explain what AS was thinking when they installed that 3' tube that, in addition to being too small for an extended hose, but too narrow to allow one to keep their connections connected.Click image for larger version
