New lighting cord needed...

Hello to all,
I'm helping a friend sell his 78 31' Sovereign and he has lost the detachable trailer light cord. Where do I get one or what are my options? Thanks as always, Doug in Gunnison, CO

What cord are you referring to? Are you thinking of the umbilical that connects the trailer to the tow vehicle? If so, one can be obtained form any reputable RV place that has a store. Is it the round 7 pin connector with 6 of them flat and around the perimeter and a larger round one in the center?

If it's like our 78, the end that plugs into the AS is a 7-way plug similar to what Semi's use - all pins are round...

Most TV's RV type 7-way plugs use the 'flat' pin type connectors...

So, you'd need a 'Male' RV plug for the TV, and a 'male' Semi (round pins) plug for the AS...

You can usually find a 'pigtail' of 6 ft or so, with the Male RV plug already attached - then you can pick up a male Semi-truck type plug and install it one the other end of the 'pigtail'...

Get the 'pigtail' just about anywhere that handles trailer parts, RV dealers, auto parts stores, etc - may even find the 'Semi-truck' plug at those places as well - or - pick one up at a truck stop...

Got it handled

Thanks for the info. I called Napa and have the parts coming. It's always good that have a place like this to come to for info. Happy Trails, Doug in Gunnison, CO
