new electrical panel disconnect inverter and battery

if I take old breakers from the old panel and add them to a new box and add a few new breakers for some new outlets and lights.... will the existing 12 volt lifhts continue to work? My plan is to disconnect the annoying humming inverter and disconnect battery. I plan to always have either electric or a generator.

has anyone done this? I do not need a water pump I plan to bring jugs of waater aand just use a water hose hookup only.

does this sound like it will work?

If you disconnect the converter and the battery, no 12 volt lights or appliances will work.

An inverter produces 120 volts AC from 12 volts DC input.

Personally, I wouldn't do that. Before attempting any electrical modifications to shore power, make sure that you have a good understanding of how electricity works - in an RV it is not exactly like it is in a house. If you miswire, your insurance may not cover you in the event of a claim.

The 12-volt system uses the battery as a method of removing any rippling in the voltage - since shore power is 120-volts alternating current at 60 Hertz and the 12-volt system is direct current. The convertor converts the 120 vac to 12 vdc, but the battery smooths it out, especially in the older units. The 12 vdc runs the water pump, lights, furnace, and the controls to the refrigerator (the absorption is via heat from either 120 vac or propane).

As well, what if your generator won't start (it happens, you know).

With a modern converter and the fact that you will always be connected to AC power. You will have no problems with the DC devices in your coach without a battery.

BUT! You will need a battery if you intend on towing the coach.
It is needed for the brakes if the trailer becomes disconnected while towing.
