An overdue update:

Since my last post, I have done the following:
- replaced the spark plug wires
- replaced the spark plugs
- changed the oil
- drained the fuel out of the tank
- misc. interior fixes

I now am trying to figure out the best strategy for what to do with the fuel tank. There were some serious duct flakes coming out of the tank (drained from the bottom) when I emptied it. My initial desire was to pull it out, and either have it cleaned or clean it myself. But this thing is proving to be a beast and does not seem to want to come out. Anyone have any experience with this?

Does the tank have an internal pump? later models do and the opening at the top of the tank when you take it out gives a real good view of the center of the tank. I was able to cut a hole in the floor to access. Mine was like new inside even though the PO changed filters every trip, it wasn't the filters causing the fuel starvation. Tank flushing good idea but if impossible to take out consider an easier fix by including another inline filter with easy access. Only problem would be if there is a screen on the fuel pipe tube at the bottom of the tank.
