New 2018 23 foot front bedroom flying cloud

This is the first AS that I have owned with front window guards. My question is that the window guards do not seem to fit correctly. Although they are backed with a protective gasket, there is a 1-2 inch gap between the window guard gasket and the body of the trailer around the window. This allows leaves and other debris as well as water to get between the windows and the window guards and it is a pain to open the guards and clean the area out and clean the windows. According to the dealer, this is normal. I find this hard to believe, is this correct or should they fit tight so no debris can get behind the guards. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Welcome to the 23 FB club.

Dealer is correct. Padding is just that...not a gasket. Just to prevent the rock guards from contacting the coach. When opening to clean, BE CAREFUL! They can swing open and dent the sides of the trailer with a gust of wind.
