Need to replace Dometic Duo-Therm Penguin shroud

The shroud on our heat pump needs replacing. Has anyone replaced one of these and can recommend a vendor? I'd also like an idea of the price so I can shop wisely. I would also like to know if there is an option for a gray color instead of white? I'm sure I have seen someone who had that and it looked great on the Airstream.
Thanks,
Ken

If you want the original, you can get them from Camping World.

Also, I believe that all you need to do is take out four Phillips screws to remove the cover. Should take you less than 1/2 hour to replace. Best of luck.

I got one of these back in 2012. Much more durable than the original.

Thanks

I also found the replacement shroud on Amazon Prime. Which should end up being less expensive then Camping World.

I bought one at Amazon. They offer a variety. Check it out.

Also, you can just buy a white one and a spray can of good silver paint that will bond to plastic. Krylon, Rustoleum and others make good paint that will do what you want.

Be careful buying from IconDirect, I bought one from them.
Wasn't pleased with the build quality & the fact that the AS decals couldn't be applied because of the polyethylene construction, very poor adhesion properties. After 24hrs the decals fell off in the rain.
They refused to issue a RAN and because of their being in Canada the return shipping cost was prohibitive.

Make an offer...it's still sitting in the rafters.

Also be careful about which cover your penguin uses. I replaced mine and dealer said correct part. Part didn't have the vent holes on street side. Had to reorder.

Shroud for heat pump

I got the model and serial # from inside the trailer by snapping out the filter cover and called Dometic. They referred me to a local supplier who had two options; one, the same as I had and another much thicker wall. I chose the later for a little over $100.

I'm finally getting time to swap it out and just realized the replacement (which looks to be the right size), doesn't have the vent holes toward the rear of the street side that the original does. I see on Amazon that the one with the holes (is a little more expensive) and is labeled "old style." Does that matter? Will it detrimentally affect operation?

?

Can you post a photo of your OEM....I believe the Penguin II is the one with vents.

OEM

The Penguin DuoTherm low profile OEM does not have vents.
The IconDirect I bought has none. (Still for sale $50+ the ride.)

An aftermarket shroud may very well have them.

Crude picture (bottom row obscured). Looks to be the same as this item on Amazon - Polar White Shroud.
