Need help with shipping cabinets

I need help either figuring out how to ship a cabinet or if anyone is coming up in to Central (Bend) Oregon from the north San Fran Bay area? Even if someone could get the cabinets to either Southern Oregon (Klamath Falls or Medford) I could come down to pick up.

I recently bought a 66' tradewind, which the owners pulled the original kitchen cabinet and stove out because it was rotten. They built a new cabinet and looks good, but its not original. I found someone gutting out a 67' trailer and is getting rid of all the cabinets. I need the kitchen base counter and the 3 burner cook top.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Are the people selling you the cabinets willing to bring it to a shipping place? An all purpose place like PostNet. Because of their size, they'll probably need to go freight, and it's not going to be cheap. And not all shipping places can deal with freight, but in the San Fran Bay area, they should be able to find some place. Not sure of the construction of the cabinets, but if they could be dissembled and made into a flat package (think IKEA furniture), then shipping will be a lot less because the box will be smaller. And then, standard UPS or FedEx ground could handle it. Just to give you and idea, I shipped a crib (handmade from cherry, but that’s a whole other story) from Minnesota to Florida. It was a flat pack, but still oversized. Went UPS ground and cost just over $300 to package and ship. Hope some of this helps.

Chris

Thanks for the feedback.

I will try to post in a different direction with this, as I thought the pre-70's interior parts were worth saving.

Thanks for the ideas, but I think I could drive down, have a little vacation, haul all the peices back for the same price as shipping and then maybe sell some of the excess.

Thanks again.

Need help transporting cabinets

Anyone available to help with transporting a kitchen cabinets w/ stove out of a 67'A/S?

I'm in Central oregon and willing to meet who ever in southern oregon or Yreka for the cabinets.

Anyone going on a rally or trip north from the bay area who would be willing to purchase and transport the cabinets?

The seller is in the Bay area 1967 Airstream Cabinets, etc..

He wants $275 for all the cabinets and $75 for the stove. I would be willing to pay $200 for the kit cabinets and stove if the transporter wanted the rest of the cabinets or we can agree on other terms. I live near Smith Rock State and would be willing to set someone up for a couple of days.

Thanks for your help.

Dan

Djohnson6940,

I wish I would have seen this post earlier. I live just north of San Francisco and just rented my motorhome saturday and the folks headed to Portland. He was hauling a small trailer to take some things and maybe could have worked something out for gas money or whatever.. Too late now as he is in Portland already .. sorry i missed this as im usually poking around in all the threads..
