No, not an '86.
Do you have the VIN number? That would help narrow it down.

Definately not an '86. Maybe a 68, but not an 86.
Someone here will be able to id it a lot better.
Price looks reasonable without knowing any more that can be seen in the pics.

That was my first guestimation L&C. It looks very similiar to the '68 I just posted pics of in the " Found Homeless" thread the other day. Those appear to be corning windows on the side shot.

Yes! '68 matches. Try here for pricing. Do you know what works (allegedly) and what doesn't? That will make a difference in value.

This is one I would go over with a fine toothed comb before buying. It would appear that the roof may have more than a bit of a leak. With rust on the stove cover, etc, mold would be a concern, and given it's sitting a field, mice would be another concern. Are you intending to restore it? If so you may want to check out some of the restorations done on this site and what has been involved to resurrect a trailer of this size in this condition.
That's my 2 cents worth (okay, with inflation it's 25 cents)

Ditto to Barry's comments. This is a major undertaking. The floor would be suspect beyond just the one area shown -- probably would be a shell-off restoration with floor replacement. I suspect they pumped up the tires for the pics -- but grass growing up around a trailer is mighty bad for humidity and rust/destruction of the frame. I would only buy this after personal inspection, poking around with an ice pick, etc. I fear that the tarp is covering more than a missing air conditioner. $2000? The link above sez $800-1800. I'd guess $800 would be charitable for what this might take. 1968 Airstreams are not rare. You kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince...
Is it an Overlander? Can you get a measurement from bumper to ball? The VIN would be a plus!

I would say that it is a 68 30' Sovereign Double bed configuration. To be honest, I can not see anything positive to say about this unit except I do not see any major dents. It has numerous leaks, the floor is rotted, there is alot od mold growing inside and the axels are shot. I would bet that the frame has major rust damageand rear end seperation / sag. It would take alot more time and money to get this baby back into shape then it would be worth. It might make a good donor trailer for someone who needs some replacement skins, that's about all. Fourty years ago this was the flagship of the fleet, years of neglect have sadly taken there toll. Too bad.

You are looking at a major renovation with this unit just to get it livable much less road worthy. If all you want is 6-12 months of temporary housing, invest $2000 in an SOB. This one will take thousands to get it ready to live in and you will loose money when you sell it. The only real value to restore this one is for use as a long term investment in personal camping pleasure. You really can't flip this one; it is too far gone for that.

It's on a manufacturer's plate just to the right of the door. Take a look at Airstream :: Customer Services to acquaint yourself with what you're looking for.

If this trailer is a 68 Sovereign the format would be as follows:
1968 Sovereign 30'
Ohio | O(I) 30 8 J NNN
California | O(I) 30 8 S NNN
(5NN for double-bed layout)
(O prefix for Standard Landyacht options, I prefix for Int'l options)

Trailer Weights
'68 Sovereign = 4640lbs
Just know that with added options (or missing equipment) they can vary from this quite a bit.
