We ran generator for just over an hour. Couldn't tell if fridge was running or not. Too loud to hear the compressor, and not long enough for it to start defrosting if it did stop running.

Oh well. For now, if we turn on inverter during the day, it's just for a very short time, and then we turn it off, and fridge seems to be happy.
