Need Help: awning spring unwound in the tube!!!

Need help! I opened my awaning today. It is new because my airstream is 2013. When I tried to close it, I heard the spring relax in the tube. There is more tension! I can not go to the dealership to go to the dealership because we leave with the trailer in a week and the next appointment is available to me in June ... Is it possible to repair it by myself? Thanks

Phone the 800 number for the awning manufacturer, perhaps there is some good advice they can offer.

ZipDee website has instructions on how to tension the spring. It is easy to do, just be careful. A lot of power in the spring.

If I bought a 2013 Airstream.....I would waltz that baby right in there to a dealer right now.

Does the awning function properly?

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
