Need Atlanta-area Airstream renovation expert

As part of a large corporate headquarters renovation, my design firm, ai3, is designing a series of small breakout spaces for employees and we are looking at using vintage airstreams to accomplish the concept. We need a qualified AS expert to assist us with the project. It is an idea near and dear to me and would love to keep promoting our passion for the iconic brand.

Your recommendations would be truly helpful! Thanks in advance!

Just FYI, James Richards is good for some AS
Repairs, but He replaced 2 large rear panels on my 92 limited end caps and used silicone instead of vulcum, and now I have leaks, as I have recently discovered.
I used to do polishing for him. He may have learned a few lesson's over the years after I brought them to his attention, and he does get the
Job done. Just ask questions

If you're able to accomplish this, please post some photos so the rest of Forum can see what you've been able to do with Vintage Airstreams.
Thanks, Derek

We are all very curious! Please post pictures of what you are doing.

My husband is a locksmith here in Atlanta and has spent many many hours rebuilding ours as well as other campers. Feel free to contact him!

Thanks for the interest and replies. We are using the vintage trailer to create meeting booths and private work stations. The logistics are interesting and will require experience with installing new doors, windows, patching and repairing the skin and removal of the plumbing and LP systems. We are looking to add a second door and divide the interior space in half with a partition and install dinettes at both ends of the trailer.

New interior and new lighting will also be a part of the work. Should be a fun experiment!

Frank's your man, he has done double door installs and relocated windows etc. He 's a little far afield but definitley worth the drive to Baltimore.

I can personally vouch for Frank's work. It is excellent and the attention to detail is superb. I have three trailers that will be done by him once i can get them to him. I'm driving 500 miles to his location so atlanta to baltimore shouldn't be that far by comparison.

I found these pictures of the work he did to create the double door trailer.
They are on his blog for his company. The whole blog is a very interesting read.

Hey, I recognize those photos! That was an awesome project, what an honor it was to work on. Oddly, another restorer told me it wouldn't work. The second door actually worked better than the original one. We not only added a door but added windows and moved some around.

Frank:

You would be the guy that could handle it. Pack your tools and come on down to Atlanta. I am sure you would be able to park your Airstream close by. What an adventure!
