Mystery Wire

Just finished the 12 day maiden voyage in our AS.

About midway through the trip I started smelling something "deadish" from under the sink around the drawer units. After removing everything I discovered that the flow check valve for the black tank rinse had broken. See photo 1.

However, in the process I found a wire that is seemingly connected to nothing (photo 2). It runs up into the sink sprayer and under the countertop.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be part of?? Also noted that the black tank sensor did not work but it seems that this would be the wrong location and or length to be tied into that system.

good pics...

the tank sensor wires run outside/underneath and are phone wires (rj-11?)

u might check that wire for juice.

the oem btf is 4themostpart useless n prone2fail ...

it clogs easily and the back flow/check valve is well known to fail...

repeatedly, IF the btf is used much.

so after repairing consider a simpler/quicker tank flusher like the king...

all of the true things that i am about to tell you are shameless lies. l.b.j.

we are here on earth to fart around. don't let anybody tell you any different. k.v.

I believe that is part of the blinky light filter end-of-life indicator for the drinking water filter.

I don't think we have a water filter on our trailer. If so, I'd have no idea where either the filter or the light would be.

There are surprisingly few switches or indicators on our flying cloud (even fewer than the manual indicates). The only ones in the main cabin that I am aware of are at the doorway which control the lights and battery store/connect panel. The other switches & indicators are in the bathroom and are for the holding tanks & battery.

Only other thought I had is maybe for one of the 12v tank heaters. Although I believe those are all routed through the underbelly.

I'll test for current when I get a chance this weekend maybe it's live...

Mystery Solved

The mystery wire appears that it is indeed part of the water filter that is not present in my trailer. I found the installation instructions in the raft of warranty literature that comes with the unit. It clearly shows the filter indicator wire and connector in the original photo I posted.

No filter in place under the sink, but it does have all of the connectors and sink bypass valve. So I guess I could install one if I wanted. Not sure I'll miss it.

Maybe I could replace the trash can storage space with a pony keg and make a beer dispenser instead
