i have bot a 1972 airstream that has been sitting for maybe 7 years. tires were new and look ok. were protected from sun. what precautions should i take to move it 150 miles?
The condition of the bearings would be one of my biggest concerns after the condition of the tires. Next, double check the structural integrity of the a-frame and hitch assembly. I would want to know it is going to roll safely. You can always rig up temp lighting to get it home.
7 year old tires should be replaced even if they look good (and these are older)
brakes should be checked
bearings should be greased
brake, stop and turn signal lights should be checked
People tow all the time without doing the above but it's a gamble.
