EEWWWW! After leaving my trailer stored at a friends ranch, I have found evidence of large furry rodent home wreckers! I have tried to get my dogs on the hunt, but they have not had any luck. I think they are in the walls? YUK!!!! I am going to buy some electronic detering devices and I will have to get some big traps. YUK!

If you look at the very front of your frame-where the coupler is welded to the frame you will see the front of the frame and it is open to whatever can fit in it. The frame is hollow and critters can get into the front end of it. Once inside the frame there are openings to the bellypan and they are free to roam. On some older models they can also gain access from the rear bumper area into the frame then into your coach. I fixed it by packing Brass wool or steel wool into the frame ends. Its inexpensive and it worked for me. The brass wool is hard to find but does not rust.

We had mice and only discovered them on our first trip. A couple mouse traps did the trick in getting rid of the ones we couldn't catch on our own.

Good advice here on where to look and what to patch up!

We had mice on our second trip. They ate through a package of hamburger buns we left on the counter. Now, all food goes in Rough Totes! While in storage, I think I'll lay out some D-Con.

No, just ANTS! We parked on an ant hill this summer and, of course, they found their way inside our Airstream.

Yea, but they may die INSIDE the trailer, hiding in the outriggers. We could hear ours running around inside and I think I injured one trying to catch one with a homemade trap (desperation). I don't think I want any dead carcasses in the trailer if I can avoid it...

We used a poision in the house that was to make the rodents thirsty and force them out to get water. We also heard them running through the walls. Unfortunately it preferred the warmth of the ceiling over our bathroom light strip and there it did in fact die. Every lit bathroom trip spread a potpourri stench that was horrible for months before it finally disappated. It was just too difficult if not impossible to find and reach the remains.

I would much rather coax them to a trap, be it a humane halfway house or its final destination express. We also found a dead nest in my bag of yarn and a skeleton in my boot. (I will never reach in my boots for socks again---EVER! )
