Mouse holes

If you every wondered where mice get into your Airstream or Argosy, here are some holes I found in the 22' 1975 Argosy I am re doing now. Oh, they were nicely covered by shag carpet. But they are typical of the way pipes go through the floor on most every AS or Argosy I have owned. The third photo shows the heat duct to keep the holding tank warm. 2" pipe, 4" hole. I removed all the ductwork in this rig, and have one direct heat outlet. I covered up the mouse hole.

I use metal plates, steel wool or expanding foam to fill them up and that usually, but not always, takes care of the problem.

Wow. And I thought I was bad with leaving about 1/2 inch around my plumbing holes when redoing my AS. I like the water damage ply wood. Typical, Thats why I painted my floor with exterior paint. that won't happen again.

Yes... It's amazing how small a hole they can get through and how much crap they leave behind

Actually, the plywood is just water stained, no damage to it at all. I checked that carefully prior to purchase, I am not going to replace a floor. I expect that in 37 years some water has hit most of the floor in most AS products. It is the time it sits there, and how often it re occurs that is the real issue.

I will have to inspect my argo for similar holes that i am sure exist. Curious as to the condition of your rear door? I am a big fan of argosy products and LOVE my 22 with the street side dinette layout.. All ways excited to hear of another argosy getting some resto love!! Please Post so pics of your progress!!

After removing the bottom bathroom closet shelf in order to replace the univolt, I found several largish holes down in what I call the crawl space.Images to follow.
