Good stuff! Has anyone had JC upgrade the converter? I would think that would be a must before buying better batteries.

Does your trailer already have the awning package?
Not much to do in the way of upgrades, really.
Stainless covers for the water heater, furnace, and stove vent?
Diamond plate lining for the storage compartments?

Underline.

Full set of awnings makes a different trailer.

Ditto on others.

See Lewster posting on batteries. Lifeline is my first upgrade after necessary repairs/replacements. Have to repair battery box on mine anyway.

No such thing as "too much fuel" after TW considerations.

I would love the stainless upgrades one day but wow the cost - still may keep that on the table

Battery related upgrade is on my short list - I think as you said for like AGM's you need an alteration to make the battery box deeper as I recall - my batteries still so far seem to be working but if the box is ready for the upgrade then I'll be ahead...I assume install of the batteries with the box modified will be easy?

I have awnings all the way around - love em.

30 minute easy DIY job for a third of what JC would charge for the job. I upgraded my converter and went to 2 6 volt batteries. Only difficult part was adding two inches to the top of the battery box.

We had the mothership install on our 2007 model the rope lighting under the awning. It's on a dimmer. Also, the black endcaps to the bumper for a nice finished look.

Oh man - that reminds me

I really do not like my stock "scare light" out there - wonder if JC could retrofit it with another fixture for me? I like that awning rope light idea - I saw that before and it would be awesome

We had the awning lights installed - love them.

And what scare light do you have? I was covering an LED version but a friend in our unit has one and hates it. Seeing it on, I'm glad to have the old school one I have in my 2012 (everything else inside is LED).

Does the awning light operate with a switch inside?

Yeah the LED outside light is mounted on the roadside of the trailer dead center and it consist of a circular mount with the led lights all facing straight out from the trailer - looks wise I'm not trolled about it and I don't like how it does not cast light in a good direction

Yes. On/off and a dimmer slider. We love it.

So you have the LED scare light and want to go backwards? They may have those in the store and if they do I'm sure they'd install one for you. I love that place. The service guys are just great!! Have fun!!!

Things I'd have the factory fix/modify:

Add on board surge protection (I have it and it's great)

Install built in water filter system (I'd love to not mess with filters at the hookup)

Add a hard start capacitor like microair to one of the ACs

Remove panel above refrigerator and put it back on clips so I could run wires to the roof as needed for accessories like The More We Explore

Add a medicine cabinet in the same trim as the coach

Maybe add wrap around window protection to limit dings on soft aluminum otherwise exposed on the bunkhouse model. This is the Mylar guards of a typical trailer.

Still thinking of things...

At one time, one could get different colors of lenses to cover the scare light at NAPA auto parts. It was a very common lens. We obtained an Airstream Blue one.... I think they came in white, yellow, red and blue at one time.

There is a cover that goes over the scare light to cover part of it, making my it smaller and less bright.

Great ideas! Thanks everyone - keep em coming if we missed any!

I have an external surge protector - it was pricey - I went through a thought process about an internal on board version but opted for the external - forget all the reasons now - but can see the allure of having it dedicated.

I need to look into these lenses and other scare light modifications

"The more we explore" - what is that?

The More We Explore is a fantastic full-timing Airstreaming young couple who are popular in social media. In fact they are here in the Airforums, but have a great YouTube channel you have to check out. Great people. I wish I could link, I'll see if I can. They are on Instagram as well.

I would suggest that you get up on the roof before you ship it and do a detailed inspection of all of the caulk/sealant. Regardless of any leak test result, it may be time to have it redone. My trailer is a 2012 and in 2016 my caulking was cracking in numerous places, but not advanced enough to result in leaking. The factory told me it is about a 2 day job to remove and replace the caulking up there and it would not be a fun job to do yourself.
It will cost you $1000-2000 and it is sad that the sealant they use does not last longer. It will last longer if you go ahead with your plans for a shelter.
