Our ~10 y.o. AS needs a couple of (hopefully) minor exterior repairs b/o accidents. We live in the DSM area but can obviously travel. Anyone w/ experience w/ AS bodywork in our area?

.....Dealer in Des Moines! I know that as of two years ago I drove by an Airstream dealer on I-35 South just off I-80 I do not know their name. I think it was less than ten miles once on I-35 South on the right hand side of the Interstate. Also there is US Adventure RV in Davenport on U.S. 61 North. They are located less than 3 miles South of I-80 on the North bound one way section of Highway 61. You can see the back of the dealers buildings and service center from the southbound one way section of Highway 61 off to the left side of the road. Hope this helps, Ed

My first thought for Airstream repairs in Iowa is Ace Fogdall RV in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They were an Airstream dealer from 1959 to about 2006, and the last that I knew, they were still an authorized Airstream Service Center. They have done beautiful work on both my Airstream and Argosy including repairing a large side panel on my Overlander. I have found the quality of their repairs beyond reproach, and they have been very helpful whenever I have consulted with them on problems. They are located just a short distance off of US 20 in Cedar Falls.

Yes, we bought our trailer from their home base in Mn but when we've taken our trailer to the DesMoines outpost, we've not had good experiences. Thanks for your thoughts though.

Ace Fogdall is no longer an AS dealer. I've e-mailed them to see if they would still do exterior AS repairs. Thanks for your thought.

I just checked the IOWA NEWSLETTER, Ace Fogdall is listed as a A$ parts, service and repairs, but he is NOT a dealer.
USAdventure has a good service/repair department, I have seen some of their work, and it was very good. They had a 23 footer that became a 18 foot due to accident and they had "revived" it.

I believe it was sometime around 2006 or 2007 when Ace Fogdall RV dropped their Airstream franchise, but they continue to be an Authorized Airstream Service Center and a good source for service and parts in my experience. They still have a number of employees who are very familiar with the Airstream line and are quite helpful to all Airstreamers and have welcomed my Vintage units at their facility.

Not close but Griffith RV in OKC does a great job. He does it all by himself and grew up with Airstreams. Good luck with whomever you choose.

UPDATE: Ace Fogdall in Cedar Falls Iowa has sold his business. Ace had been an Airstream dealer for several years and than down sized to become a service only Air Stream Associate. The business has been purchased by Camping World/ Good Sam. The business will continue to do service and become a CW retail store.
