We traded in our new 2017 26U for a 2018 28RBQ. The dealer and airstream helped us about somewhat. Hope we have better luck with this one.

I wonder if someone with experience should open up a sticky on the do's and don'ts of dealing with a dealership and Airstream on warranty related issues, as it seems we have two people that bought from the same dealership with two different experiences.

My take on dealing with dealerships.

Be firm about the fix but fair about the timeline; perturbed that it occurred but not angry enough to get someones back up; be polite and thank them if you know they are trying to set this right. Communication and willingness to work with them, not against them is key.

Be proactive and come up with possible acceptable solutions if you know the fix is going to be almost impossible to accomplish back to OEM. For example, instead of demanding a whole new flooring front to back for a water repair in the first foot or so, be willing to choose a different style of flooring in a section that has the fix. You'll be the only trailer that has this and tell everyone you had it special ordered this way.

Cheers
Tony

Monitoring this site

I do not think airstream monitors this site or they would fix there quality loop. As well as customer service issues, through dealerships.
If this is new trailer I would be not that happy either.

I’m purchasing a new 2018 FC 25 FBTW. My concern is that i’m Picking up in Tampa and live in Arizona. If I have repairs that are needed do I have to take it back across country?

I would find a dealer and develop a service relationship near where you live. I made sure I bought mine within a couple hours drive from home in case I need service, but not everyone can do that.

I travel most of the year and don't really stay anywhere near where I bought the trailer. I have found most service centers across the Nation to be fairly similar in terms of quality of work and they have all been very professional and efficient and have treated me like I had bought it at their dealer, regardless of where I am.

Mine started in june 2020. Same leak 5 times and 3 trips to Jackson Center. Still leaks.

1st. Replaced a hail damaged Not leaking roof with a leaking lay-over roof.

2nd, Went back, they hooked the air pump to it and blew it up. Got on the top with water-soap bottles and fixed 3 leaks they said. It leaked on the terraport with the first rain. Took it back in and fixed it again.

3rd Time. Went back. Brad (manager), Tanner, Clay worked on it again. This time they took it to the main factory and put it in the tunnel. This is said to be the fix all.
It is still leaking in the same places. This is the 5th time.

If you are still with me. 6000 miles, 2 weeks each trip, a motel on the first one and I am getting no where.

All is documented with video after the first one. We are at 6 months here and getting close to 15000.00

That is my short story, any suggestions? My local dealer sent me there. I am all ears cause all I have left is my dealer and legal help.

My fear is they have totaled my Airstream.

I just posted my first. I do not think they care. They have their hand full selling new ones.

My short is: No leaks on roof till they repaired it. 6 months, 3 trips, thousands of dollars and hours.

Still leaks and Airstream caused it. Arrtie, Brad, Clay, Tanner and Bill have tried to help.

Maybe they will call today?
